XML Zip - Benefits: Reduces Transmission Time for XML Documents
Product catalogs represented in XML can be quite large and cumbersome to transmit in their uncompressed form, but once compressed, can be easily and effectively transmitted to trading partners and customers.

Reduces Memory Required to Transfer XML Information
XMLZip allows users to determine the level at which the XML document is compressed. In addition, XMLZip provides access to individual levels of an XML document without uncompressing the entire file, thus reducing the memory required to transmit XML documents.

Provides XML Files that are Recognized by the DOM Interface
XMLZip is easily incorporated in the standard DOM interface. This means that current XML development can continue to occur without requiring developers to learn new syntax for processing XML documents.

Requirements: The XMLZip product is a small Java application that will run on any operating system that supports Java JDK 1.1.8 and requires approximately 11K of space. The source and documentation distribution requires approximately 1MB of space. Operating systems that have been tested so far include the following: Windows NT 4.0, Linux Red Hat 5.2 (requires Kernel 2.0.36 or higher), and Solaris 2.5.1 or higher.
